Rules & Regulations

Please read these rules carefully before you register. By completing your registration you agree to follow every rule listed below, along with all official instructions issued by the Organizer on event day.

Registration & Participation

  1. Participants must complete the official registration process and provide accurate and complete information.
  2. Registration is subject to successful completion of the registration process and payment.
  3. Registration is valid only for the participant whose details are submitted during registration.
  4. The Organizer reserves the right to reject or cancel a registration if the participant does not meet the eligibility requirements.

Age Eligibility

Age is calculated as on 3 January 2027 (Event Day).Your eligibility depends on your age on the day of the event, not on the day you register.

Age Eligibility Clarification

  • Half Marathon: The participant must have completed 18 years of age on the Event Day. A participant born after 3 January 2009 will not be eligible.
  • 10 KM: The participant must have completed 12 years of age on the Event Day. A participant born after 3 January 2015 will not be eligible.
  • 5 KM: The participant must have completed 12 years of age on the Event Day. A participant born after 3 January 2015 will not be eligible.
  • 3 KM: The participant must have completed 3 years of age on the Event Day. A participant born after 3 January 2024 will not be eligible.
Age & identity proofParticipants may be required to provide valid age/identity proof during registration, BIB collection or the event. Participants below 18 years must have the consent of a parent/legal guardian.

Race BIB

  1. Every participant must wear the BIB assigned to them.
  2. The BIB must be clearly visible on the front of the running T-shirt/vest throughout the race.
  3. BIBs must not be altered, damaged, folded or tampered with.
  4. A participant must not run using another participant's BIB.
  5. Unauthorized BIB transfer, sale or exchange is not permitted.
  6. Any violation may result in disqualification.

Timing

  1. Official timing will be provided for the Half Marathon, 10 KM and 5 KM categories.
  2. Participants must cross the designated timing points to receive an official result.
  3. Participants must use the timing system/BIB provided by the Organizer.
  4. Any attempt to manipulate or interfere with the timing system may result in disqualification.
The 3 KM is a Non-Timed RunNo official timing or timing result will be provided for the 3 KM category.

Start & Reporting

  1. Participants must report at the venue according to the reporting schedule announced by the Organizer.
  2. Participants must start only from the designated starting area.
  3. Participants must follow the instructions of race officials, volunteers, police, security and medical personnel.
  4. Late arrival may result in the participant being unable to start or receive an official result.

Race Route

  1. Participants must follow the official race route assigned to their category.
  2. Route cutting, shortcuts or leaving the designated course is prohibited.
  3. Participants must follow route markings, barricades and instructions from race officials and volunteers.
  4. Any participant found intentionally shortening the race route may be disqualified.

Cut-Off Time

  1. Participants must complete their respective race within the official cut-off time announced by the Organizer.
  2. After the cut-off time, the race route may be reopened to normal traffic.
  3. Participants continuing after the cut-off must follow the instructions of race officials and traffic authorities.
  4. The Organizer reserves the right to modify the cut-off time due to traffic, weather, safety or operational requirements.

Medical & Safety

  1. Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are physically fit to participate.
  2. Participants are advised to seek appropriate medical advice if they have any health concerns before participating.
  3. Medical assistance will be available at designated locations during the event.
  4. The Organizer/medical team may stop or withdraw a participant if continuing the race is considered unsafe.
  5. Participants must immediately inform race officials or medical personnel if they require assistance.

Prohibited Activities

The following activities are prohibited:

  • Running without a valid BIB.
  • Using another participant's BIB.
  • Unauthorized BIB transfer.
  • Route cutting or taking shortcuts.
  • Using unauthorized vehicles or wheeled equipment on the race course.
  • Deliberately obstructing another participant.
  • Interfering with timing equipment.
  • Unsafe, abusive or disruptive behaviour.
  • Failure to follow instructions issued by race officials, volunteers, police, security or medical personnel.

Disqualification

A participant may be disqualified for:

  • Providing false or incorrect information.
  • BIB misuse or unauthorized transfer.
  • Route cutting.
  • Timing manipulation.
  • Violation of race rules.
  • Failure to follow official instructions.
  • Unsafe or unsportsmanlike conduct.
  • Any action that may compromise the safety or integrity of the event.

Prize & Award Eligibility

  1. Awards and prize money will be governed by the official Awards & Cash Prizes structure.
  2. Winners may be required to provide valid identity, age and other supporting documents for verification.
  3. Prize money/payment will be processed after completion of the required verification.
  4. Applicable taxes or statutory deductions, wherever applicable, will be made as per prevailing regulations.
  5. The Organizer reserves the right to withhold or review an award in case of a result dispute or verification requirement.

Baggage

  1. Baggage facilities, if provided, will be available only at designated counters.
  2. Participants are advised not to deposit valuables such as cash, jewellery, important documents or expensive electronic items.
  3. The Organizer shall not be responsible for loss or damage to valuables deposited or carried during the event, subject to applicable law.

Cancellation, Transfer & Refund

  1. Cancellation, refund and transfer of registration will be governed by the official registration policy applicable to the event.
  2. Participants must not independently sell, exchange or transfer their registration.
  3. Unauthorized BIB or registration transfers are not permitted.
  4. The Organizer reserves the right to reject unauthorized transfers.

Photography & Video

By participating in the Sanand Half Marathon, participants acknowledge that photographs, videos and other recordings may be taken during the event.

The Organizer and its authorized partners may use such photographs and recordings for:

  • Event promotion
  • Website
  • Social media
  • Media coverage
  • Future event marketing
  • Event documentation & archival purposes

Event Modification / Cancellation

  1. The Organizer reserves the right to modify the event schedule, venue, race route, start time or other arrangements due to weather, traffic, safety concerns, government directions, permissions or other circumstances.
  2. In exceptional circumstances, the Organizer may postpone, modify or cancel the event.
  3. Participants will be informed through the official communication channels wherever reasonably possible.

Participant Declaration

By registering for the Sanand Half Marathon, the participant confirms that:

  • The information provided during registration is accurate and complete.
  • They meet the age and eligibility requirements of their selected race category.
  • They have read and understood the Rules & Regulations.
  • They agree to follow the instructions of race officials, volunteers, medical personnel, police and security personnel.
  • They understand that participation in a running event involves inherent physical risks.

Final Authority

The Organizer reserves the right to interpret and enforce these Rules & Regulations and to take appropriate action in the interest of participant safety, fair participation and smooth conduct of the event.

By completing registration, the participant agrees to abide by these Rules & Regulations and all official instructions issued by the Organizer.
